Kinepolis, forced to keep their theatre doors closed, brought the magic of film outside.

International cinema chain Kinepolis has been offering intense cinema experiences for years now. In the summer of 2020 we came up with a business idea that literally and figuratively takes the roof off their current experience; Kinepolis On Tour. Iconic movies, brought to life on iconic places in Belgium. War blockbusters like ‘1917’ or ‘Saving Private Ryan’ were showed in Flanders fields, race sagas like’ The fast & the furious’ on famous race tracks, ‘Beauty and the beast’ or ‘Harry Potter’ in the shadows of a beautiful castle and ‘Interstellar’ beneath the gazing stars. The film festival traveled around Belgium for one month, accompanied by the largest outdoor LED screen in the world and lots of magic. Kinepolis On Tour went more viral than COVID at the time, inspiring many organizations and cities to also give drive-in cinema a second chance.
